In the early 1990s, the owners joined forces with world famous designer Karl Lagerfeld who was given complete responsibility for the artistic design of the hotel.

Throughout the hotel Lagerfeld has captured the vibrant luxury of 1920s Berlin with modern, contemporary design. Every detail in the hotel has had the Lagerfeld seal of approval.

Lagerfeld also designed his own suite which is furnished with his own possessions.

In return for his services, Lagerfeld did not want payment, just access to his suite forever.

The Lagerfeld suite is also available to guests too.
