Nargess
Gharani and Vanja Strok have been best friends for over 20 years –
when they were teenagers, they vowed that one day they would become
famous designers.
Their
dream came true - they are now the names behind London’s brightest
young design label - Gharani Strok.
They
met at school and went on to study at art college with the aim of
starting their own business in design after graduating. From the very
beginning, while they were still at art school, they found that they had
very similar ideas in design and soon realised that they were destined
to work as a team.
Gharani
Štrok is a hip young fashion company who, over the last seven years
have created a label that showcases their individual sense of style and
is fast becoming a favourite among the fashion circles world-wide. |
Renowned
for their imaginative, eclectic mix of fabrics and prints, they have
acquired an international clientele base and loyal celebrity following
throughout the world.
Their
designs have gained world wide recognition from shoppers and buyers
including the makers of hit TV series 'Sex And The City' who have asked the girls for
a range of design intended for use in the next series.
Their
influences are eclectic and come from materials and patterns that they
pick up wherever they travel. They find a shape, colour or fabric and
translate the idea into their own garment.

for new trends and an eye for unusual fabrics to create commercially
viable pieces have set them apart from their peers.
Strong cultural influences both from Nargess and Vanja are at the
