Get
your credit cards ready; Chicago's shopping is not to be outdone
by New
York, London, Paris or Milan.
Don't
assume that shopping in Chicago begins and ends on Michigan
Avenue. It is where everyone begins, and for a good reason, for
the Magnificent Mile is brilliant for shopping! Many of the big
names in fashion – whether high-end designer or highstreet shops
– are situated on or are very close to Michigan Avenue, as are
all other chains plus three malls in the space of only six blocks.
This means that Michigan Avenue is busy with shoppers on weekends,
which can make you feel quite claustrophobic. But for genuinely
unique shops….well we will tell you how to find these!! Aside
from the markets, there's State Street, where you'll find the
world-renowned Marshall Field's; Lake View, home to dozens of
esoteric and interesting shops, most found around Clark Street
north of Diversey and on Halsted Street in Boystown; the Loop's
Jeweler's Center; the bookstores of Hyde Park; Wicker Park, where
you'll find an assortment of super-hip stores; and plenty more
besides.
Chicago
celebrates its style with sophistication and flair, from chic
department stores to elegant boutiques…. Big boutique will tell
you how to find them!
