Known for being the city of sails,
although not the capital of New Zealand Auckland certainly
provides much of the hustle and bustle of the country.
With 48 volcanic
cones and two ancient rainforested mountain ranges it is
certainly not run of the mill city.
With
bays, beaches and islands its nickname 'the city of sails' is
very apt.
Auckland lies between the Waitemata and Manukau harbours, for
those who love water it is a pradise, with some of the best
beaches, swimming, diving, fishing, sailing, windsurfing and
watersports in the country.
Shop until you drop in Auckland. It is well known for the flair and
creativity of individuals that you might find that something a
little bit different there when you explore.
Parnell
just east of city centre, is a fashionable area of renovated
wooden villas full up with restaurants and boutiques.
To the west are the hip and happening café
district Ponsonby and Herne.
You can purchase mainstream
items at the Downtown shopping center – but keep going to
Queen Street where you can discover the main business and
shopping precinct into the central city.
