It’s hard to believe that Akira Isogawa never intended to become a fashion designer.  

Despite the talented young designer’s unassuming nature, his clothes speak volumes and are worn by celebrities such as Nicole Kidman as well as being retailed in top boutiques all around the world.


Akira Isogawa came to Sydney Australia in 1986 – a very different culture from his native Japan. His Japanese roots however are clearly evident in his designs.

His work with Vintage Kimonos that he sources in Kyoto, Japan are used in various ways ..from bags ..to belts.


Akira designs everything from shape, colours, choice of fabric and size for his intimate up market collections.  

With sales growing by over 400 per cent in just three years, Akira Isogawa works along with his ten staff to produce unique garments now loved by clients in Australia, USA, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Germany.
