Marseilles, a bustling port in the south of France, is THE place to amble and stroll and check out the beautiful people.

Style isn’t just on the sidewalk, it’s in some Marseilles homes too and partly thanks to an interior design team based here near the city's cool harbour.

Cooked in Marseilles is a high concept design studio for people who enjoy the modern look but need a practical touch to objects in their home environment.

Designers Marine Peryre and Desmond De Amil have used their love of state of the art, high tech materials and applied them to classic designs and modern functionality.

Cooked in Marseilles uses recycled materials, plastics, silicon, PVC to create coffee cups, egg cups, high concept seating and lighting. All in all, their objects make for stylish living environment.

The coffee cups are a design success because they look good AND they’re indestructable.

Colour is also the selling point of these fabulous lighting cubes. And given good atmosphere and ambiance in the home, what better to enjoy than a long cool drink - or even a short?

And it’s this sense of humour and pleasure in things around the home that Cooked in Marseilles aims to bring to their customers.

The Cooked in Marseilles seating philosophy encourages you to lounge around - in easy chairs perfect for re-creating and adapting to your home or even your mood.

The Malabar chairs come apart and can be rebuilt in any shape and are light enough to throw around the living room - so you can choose whatever lounging place you desire. They’re colour, shape and consistency was inspired, of all things, by a brand of chewing gum.

Cooked in Marseilles is now receiving acclaim on the international circuit but their aims, as far as the customer is concerned, remain simple.

So watch the Cooked in Marseilles space for new ideas and bold concepts on how to inject a little more joy into your own space.
